Over 300 guests joined Dezeen Awards 2026, in partnership with Trimble, to celebrate the Asia Pacific Regional Showcases at a party during Melbourne Design Week.

Taking place at rug brand Armadillo's showroom in the bohemian Fitzroy area, the party was attended by leading architects and designers from across the region who gathered to learn about this year's programme and new initiatives.

The night kicked off with presentations from the event's co-hosts including Dezeen's China team, led by China editor Christina Yao, Swedish elevator manufacturer Aritco, Armadillo and Timothy Moore, curator of Melbourne Design Week.

Local studios and previous Dezeen Awards winners LLDS Architects, Studio Bright and Other Matter shared how winning an award supported their career development.

Guests then enjoyed a selection of champagne and wine from drinks partner Penfolds as the party continued into the evening.

This year, Dezeen Awards continues its global search for the best architecture, interiors, and design with the introduction of our Regional Showcases – three Top 50 lists that will celebrate the best projects in three regions: Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific, and the Americas.

Alongside our 49 project awards, this new addition adds another chance for work to be celebrated and spotlights outstanding projects produced in key regions of the world.

Historically, some of the strongest entries to Dezeen Awards have been from Asia Pacific. Thirty-seven per cent of our winners last year came from the region, highlighting the outstanding work being created in this part of the world.
